 This is Earth Day and Keep Chadron Beautiful is celebrating with its annual Chadron Community Cleanup from 9-to-noon with the courthouse serving as headquarters.
Executive Director Susan Hucke says all volunteers need to do to take part is drop by the courthouse during that 3-hour period.
Hucke says Keep Chadron Beautiful can assign a volunteer or a group of volunteers a location to clean up or they can choose one of their own.
What is important to Hucke is that everyone planning to help, whether today or another day, register with Keep Chadron Beautiful because the organization gets to use volunteer hours as an in-kind match for grants.
Hucke emphasizes that she’s not asking everyone to work the full 3 hours; she’ll be happy with however long people can give.
Hucke also says that anyone who wants to support Keep Chadron Beautiful but can’t take part in the cleanup can always make a cash donation.
