Free Activity-Tracking Program to Award Badges/Prizes for Mental Wellbeing Activity

Organizers of the WellPower Movement, in observance of Mental Health Awareness month, are encouraging Nebraskans to focus on their mental wellbeing throughout the month of May. Those interested can register and participate for free at WellPowerMovement.com.

In the Mental Wellbeing Challenge, virtual badges and actual prizes will be awarded for those who log miles–converted from minutes–for several mental wellbeing activities, including meditation, volunteering, reading, gratitude-journaling, healthy sleep, group exercise/play and more.

The WellPower Movement currently has more than 8,900 participants. The program’s most recent challenge, the Level Up Bingo Challenge, which was created by Miss Nebraska Steffany Lien, finished up on April 17. So far, participants have logged more than 613,000 miles with 425 participants achieving more than 100 miles since Jan. 1.

The WellPower Movement is a free web-based activity-tracking program that motivates members to adopt healthy habits by participating in wellbeing challenges throughout the year.  Depending on the challenge, virtual badges and actual prizes are awarded for achieving and logging benchmark amounts of healthy activities, both physical and mental.

The Mental Wellbeing Challenge is sponsored by BlueCross and BlueShield of Nebraska and conducted by the Nebraska Sports Council. Other WellPower Movement Sponsors include CHI Health St. Elizabeth, the Nebraska Medical Association, Nebraska Orthopaedic Center, Black Hills Energy, Aquafina, the Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association, Liberty First Credit Union, Scheels–Omaha, Farmers Mutual of Nebraska, Sandhills Global, TELCOR and Unanimous.
