The American Legion baseball season is underway in Chadron and just like last year, FNBO (First National Bank of Omaha) is sponsoring 3 teams with American Legion Bill Dowling Post 12: the 14u Preps, 16u Juniors, and the 18u Seniors.
Younger players will bounce between teams, as eligible, throughout the year based on needs and schedules.
The Prep team is also part of Chadron Youth Baseball and is coached by Bruce Parish and Cobie Bila. It opened this week against Valentine and dropped both games by 1 run
Both the Juniors and Seniors opened their seasons in Scottsbluff on May 10th. The Juniors, coached by Pat Blake and Aaron Price, are now 4-3 with wins over Bridgeport, Torrington and Sheridan County.
Coaches Kyle Sanders and Ross Bowman have led the Seniors to 5-4 mark after going 3-1 last weekend at the Gering tournament last weekend, where they beat Alliance, Buckley and Casper. The other wins for the Senior Nationals were blowouts over Bridgeport.
