The Dawes County Historical Society holds its annual Garden Party fundraiser today from 2-4:30 at the County Museum south of Chadron on Country Club Road.
This year’s Garden Party is highlighting some of the Museum’s “Hidden Treasures,” with the primary fundraiser being an auction of hats from the Museum collection. Local auctioneer Bruce Schoepner will handle the bidding call.
The featured program is Master of Ceremonies Dave Carlson giving a talk on the historic buildings now located on the museum grounds.
Guests will be entertained by music from Jack Issacs, there will be refreshments, and all guests will receive a complementary copy of a book full of facts about early Chadron.
They’re also invited to come out before the Garden Party or to remain after its over to visit the various buildings and exhibits at the Dawes County Historical Museum.
