When 43rd District State Senator Tom Brewer of Gordon served as Grand Marshal of the Crawford 4th of July Parade, it was one of his first public appearances since returning from his latest trip to Ukraine.
A retired colonel in the U-S Army Rangers and decorated combat veteran who was wounded multiple times on multiple deployments to Afghanistan, Brewer has visited Ukraine 3 times since it was invaded by Russian.
During this visit, which lasted about a month, Brewer visited with soldiers on the front-line and with high-ranking military and civilian leaders.
He says his goals were to distribute aid, show support for Ukraine, and learn as much about the situation – military and civilian – as possible to pass it along to his colleagues in the Unicameral and to Nebraska’s congressional delegation.
Brewer says half of the Ukrainian soldiers he met at this time last year are now dead, and he also praises the civilian population for what he calls “their everyday bravery,” adding “They’re doing things that are far braver than we’ve seen military personnel get bronze and silver stars for.”
Brewer remains convinced it’s vital that the United State remains invested in giving Ukraine the equipment and training it needs to win, explaining “There are things that are happening here that will affect the world in the days to come.”
Brewer is a member of the Oglala Lakota tribe and the first Native American elected to the Nebraska Legislature
That is a very bold statement Senator, and with with allot of Bias. Contrary to what you believe, Ukraine is not our friend.
Just a reminder, folks. No politician is perfect.
Real reason for u.s. involvement is to protect the dollar as reserve currency as countries ditch it because it has been weaponized. Before commenting do your homework follow the money!
Dan,
I have. There is far more involved than currency. I will reverse your quote, maybe it is you who should research before inserting your comment.
It is ALWAYS about the money. The right and just action is for the U.S. to stop sending aid. This is a proxy war. The U.S. sends money.
Russians and Ukrainians die. How is that good for anyone?

Dan. Ukraine is the epitome of corruption in Europe. How can this be about protecting our currency when this president is hell bent on driving us into another recession. I firmly hold that the only reason we are now billions of tax dollars into this border dispute (not our border, though) is because the Ukrainian government has our president and his son by the balls. If Biden hadn’t sent billions of dollars of our tax money over, I guarantee we’d have way more dirt on Hunter’s business dealings over there.
I mean, C’mon Man! We’ve gotta save The Biden Crime Family from any more embarrassment.
LET’S GO BRANDON
HAPPY MAGA MONTH!!!
I went to CSC with kids from Ukraine, bud. You speak for yourself when you say “Ukraine is not our friend.”
Look up BRICS see for yourself then look up dedollarization. Russia and China are bypassing SWIFT international monetary payment system, something the bankers do not want. The dollar is the “reserve” currency and is being dethroned. I taught economics for years and know my history..
Got to love trolls who cant wait to speak their mind, knowing nothing of the context of what was said. Happy trolling Robyn.
