Loading

Today is the day that gave this year’s 137th Dawes County Fair its theme – Roses are Red, Mud is Brown, the Windows are Up, and the Pedal is Down – as the annual Tough Truck Contest takes over the arena tonight.

Driver registration runs from 5:30-6:45 with racing at 7:00. There is a $10 admission for adults.

There are lots of other things happening at the Fair before then. The 4-H Dairy Goat and Meat Goat Shows are this morning with the Swine Show this afternoon while the 4-H Building and Eaton Hall open at 8:00 with all the Static Exhibits.

Food vendors are offering a variety of items and Security First Bank of Chadron is offering free Root Beer Floats at the Grandstand starting at 5:30.
