Defendants Enter Pleas

Several defendants entered pleas in Dawes County District Court Tuesday.

Conrad Randall entered not guilty pleas to second degree domestic assault, assault by strangulation or suffocation, use of a firearm to commit a felony and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony. Randall allegedly assaulted his domestic partner with an air powered rifle, a hammer and attempted to strangle her. A motion for discovery was granted, and Randall’s bond was reduced to 10% of $100,000. His next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 17.

Patrick McMann, who originally faced 13 counts in two cases entered a plea agreement to reduce it to 10 counts. He is now charged with three counts of possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, and misdemeanor counts of possessing game animals without a permit, obtaining a permit under false pretenses, and five counts of possession of unmounted game out of season. He will be sentenced Nov. 7.

Trenton Rattler dealt with two cases of terroristic threats from September of 2022 and February 2023 in a plea agreement for both cases that resulted in the dismissal of one count. Rattler was found guilty of two counts of terroristic threats; sentencing will be Nov. 7.

Douglas Updike entered a no contest plea to driving while revoked and will be sentenced Oct. 17. Larissa Broberg entered a not guilty plea to conspiracy to commit a Class II felony and will appear in court Oct. 17, and Lance Brewer entered a not guilty plea to possessing or receiving a stolen firearm. He will have his next court appearance Sept. 14.
