A seven run 3rd erased a 2-0 deficit and the Chadron High softball team held off a late Alliance rally for a 10-9 win in their home opener on Tuesday night.
The 3rd inning barrage included seven straight batters getting on base and coming around to score.
The Cardinals held a 10-6 lead heading to the 6th before Alliance tallied 3 runs to pull within the final score of 10-9.
Avrielle Sager earned the Dunbar’s U Design play of the game with her single in the bottom of the 3rd, just her 2nd hit of the season, that sparked the big offensive output.
Kinley Richardson was named the Service Barber Shop player of the game, going 2-for-4 at the plate with 2 RBI’s and accounting for 5 putouts at her 3rd base position.
Chadron is now off for the week and will travel to Scottsbluff next Tuesday.
