The Chadron High volleyball team rattled off 11 straight points to win the 5th set and take down Mitchell 21-25, 25-17, 25-19, 21-25, 15-7 in their season opener on Thursday at the newly renovated Bird Cage.
Paige Slingsby came up with the Dunbar’s U-Design It play of the game with a kill in the 5th set while Demi Ferguson earned Service Barber Shop player of the game honors.
Chadron is home again tonight against Gordon-Rushville at 5:00 pm and then will take part in the Comet Classic at Rapid City Christian where they will play St. Thomas More and St. Francis in pool play. RCC, Hill City and New Underwood make up the other pool.
