A Cheyenne woman was killed late Friday afternoon in head-on crash in south central Wyoming north of Baggs.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol says 24-year-old Kyra Stoner was northbound on Hwy 789 about 30 miles southwest of Rawlins a little after 6:00 when her midsized car crossed the centerline and collided head-on with an oncoming pickup.
Stoner was not wearing her seat belt and died from her injuries. Another person was also injured, but the Highway Patrol summary didn’t specify injuries of if was the other driver or a passenger in one of the vehicles.
The death was the 95th fatality on Wyoming’s highways this year, a jump of 12 from last year and 21 more than in 2021, but it’s 14 fewer than in 2019.Â
