Burial will follow at St Peter’s Episcopal Cemetery in OglalaLunch will follow at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Hall
Visitation precedes the funeral from 10:00 to noon at the Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge
Cydney LeeAnn Fast Wolf “Itkopu Win” was born on August 23, 1983 in Gordon, NE to Jolene Fast Wolf and Wayne Not Help Him. Cydney made her journey to the Sacred Spirit World on August 23, 2023 in Rapid City, SD.
Cydney graduated 8th grade at Red Cloud Elementary School and attended Red Cloud High School, receiving her GED in 2003 with a certificate in teaching Lakota Language in 2004.
Cydney was crowned Miss Oglala Nation in 2000. As a young girl, she followed in her great-grandmother Hazel’s footsteps and became a traditional dancer.
Cydney is survived by her children Elledonna Fast Wolf, David Larry He Crow Jr, Taylor Natalia Rain Fast Wolf, Zacary Blaze He Crow and Taren Stormy He Crow; father Wayne Not Help Him; hunka parents Robert “Bob” Brave Heart and Evaleen Brave Heart; sister, Nicole Holly Not Help Him; aunts/uncles Donna Red Ear Horse, Norman Bianas, Wendy Backs, Ernest Afraid of Bear, Sandee French and Muriel Lakota; and grandparents Nason Backs Sr, Alex (Mary) Hurder of Murfreesboro, TN, Myles (Cecelia) Wade of Isleta, NM and Charlotte Black Elk.
Cydney was preceded in death by her mother Jolene Fast Wolf; brother Corey Fast Wolf; grandparents Vestana Red Ear Horse and Melvina Backs; great-grandparents Hazel & Max Blacksmith; and uncles Alvin Slow Bear, Steven Slow Bear, Vance Blacksmith, and Nason “Jay” Backs Jr.
Pallbearers will be Jason Sioux Bob, Jack Sioux Bob, Clifton Waters, NuVassie Blacksmith, Lloyd Bianas Sr, and Jake Bianas.
