Sandra K Brodrick was born at Chadron Community Hospital on November 5, 1950 to Jim and Vada Regan. She passed away September 1, 2023.

At birth, Sandy joined older sister Penny; the family later grew to include siblings Rhonda and Jim.

Sandy attended Chadron City Schools: Kenwood Elementary School, Chadron Middle School and Chadron High School. In 1982 she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Chadron State College.

After graduating from college, Sandy embarked on a 30-plus year career at Pine Ridge Job Corps Center, where she was able to have an impact on the lives of hundreds of students.

She also had the opportunity to travel with students to other parts of the U-S, spending many summers with students at forest fire locations across the western US. She retired from the Job Corp in 2015.

Sandy married Daniel J Tobin and the couple had two children, Tracy and Susan. Sandy and Dan later divorced, and on Feb 22, 1973, she married Donald G (Donnie) Brodrick. The couple had four sons: Alex, Samuel, David and Nathan.

Sandy had a wide variety of interests including crafting, gardening, collecting antiques and genealogical research. She was known for having strong opinions on a variety of subjects, and for her love of animals.

Over the years her pets included racoons, ferrets, dogs, cats, goats, horses, birds, the odd reptile (or 2), as well as Bob the miniature donkey, who is a local celebrity.

Despite all her interests and activities, Sandy devoted much of her life to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sandy is survived by siblings Rhonda (Rob) Grantham of Crawford and Jim Regan of Chadron; children Tracy Brodrick of North Liberty, IA; Susie Brodrick of Cape Coral, FL; Alex Brodrick of Lincoln, NE; Sam Brodrick of Chadron; David (Hazel) Brodrick of Chadron; grandchildren Kristen Allen, Dylan Barnes, Alex Jr, Allen, Sammie, Max, Felix, Lyam, Willow, Adora; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Sandt was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Vada Regan, sister Penny Geist, husband Donnie and son Nathan Lee.
