A Celebration of Life for 87-year old Crawford native David Porter will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Memory Gardens in Brea, CA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to DelHaven Community Center, an organization that David supported passionately, at PO Box 847, La Puente, CA 91747.

David Louis Porter was born on February 5, 1936, in Crawford and peacefully left this world on August 27, 2023. He leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and service that will be cherished forever.
David was a proud veteran, having served in the United States Navy from 1954-1958.
He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Judy Porter. Their bond was a testament to love’s enduring strength and provided an inspiration to all who knew them.
He was a loving and proud father to his children: sons Michael Porter (spouse Florence) and Douglas Porter (spouse Dawn) and daughter, Susan. His guidance, wisdom, and unwavering support were a constant source of strength for his children.
David was a loving grandfather to Mackenzie (spouse Lyssa), Nicholas, and Dylan, who brought immeasurable joy and laughter to his life. He relished watching them grow and succeed, taking great pride in their achievements.
In addition to his family, David had two passions that brought him immense happiness throughout his life – University of Nebraska football and golf.
He was an avid follower of Husker football, dedicating weekends to cheering for his beloved team, and was an enthusiastic golfer who spent hours on the greens perfecting his game and enjoying the camaraderie of friends.
His dedication to the community was evident through his volunteer work with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. David gave selflessly of his time and skills to ensure the safety and well-being of his fellow citizens, leaving a lasting impact on the community he served.
David also served on the DelHaven Community Center board for many years, and loved the special needs clients who attend there.
David Louis Porter’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a loving husband, a caring father, a proud grandfather, and a dedicated community servant.
He will be dearly missed and forever remembered. May David’s soul find eternal peace, and may his family and friends find solace in the cherished memories they hold dear.
