The Chadron State College women’s golf team is currently tied for 3rd after Day One of the 12-team EverSpring Inn Mustang Invite in Marshall, MN.

The tournament hosted by Southwest Minnesota State is being played at the 5,852-yard par 72 Marshall Golf Club. The Eagles shot 317, tied with Morningside University.
Jordan Grasis, a senior from Yuma, AZ, shot a team-best 4-over par 76 and is tied in 5th. Grasis recorded 2 birdies on the front 9 for a 2-under 34, but struggled on the back 9 with 4 bogeys and a double-bogey.

Tied for 14th is  Payton Wise, a sophomore from Kimball, NE, is tied for 14th at 78. Wise had one birdie and 2 bogeys on the front 9 and 5 bogeys on the back 9.

Brooke Kramer, a senior from Aurora, CO, is one stroke behind Wise and tied for 17th. Kramer had 2 bogeys on the front 9 and 5 on the back 9.

Allison Acosta, a senior from Oro Valley, AZ, is the last Eagle on the team score and finished Round 1 tied for 46th after shooting a 12-over 84.
Like her teammates, Acosta struggled badly on the back 9 with 5 bogeys, a double-bogey, and a quadruple bogey after having a single bogey on the front 9.
Kenzey Kanno, a senior from Mitchell, shot an 86, while Aubree Heinsma, a sophomore from Windsor, CO, shot an 82 (+10) while competing as an individual.

Augustana, who has won the tournament the last 3 years, is threatening to run away with the title again after finishing the 1st round with golfers it 1st, 2nd, and 2 tied for 3rd.
