The return of the Miss Chadron and Miss Chadron’s Teen Pageant this Saturday at 6:00 in the Chadron High School Auditorium has drawn 11 competitors from across Nebraska.

There are 5 contestants for the titles of Miss Chadron and Miss Northwest with 6 contenders for the crown as Miss Chadron’s Teen and Miss Northwest’s Teen.

Co-Emcees for the night are Miss Nebraska 2023 Morgan Baird and Miss Nebraska’s Teen 2023 Boston Paterra, who was also Miss Alliance’s Teen. Tickets will be sold at the door. The auditorium doors open at 5:30.

Only 2 of the 5 Miss contestants are from the Panhandle: Rylie Wright of Hemingford, daughter of Bridget and Justin Rabe and Mick Wright; and Hannah Henton of Kimball,, daughter of Kris and Tom O’Brien and Jason Henton.

The other contenders are Adaline Linscott of Fairbury, daughter of Tim and Deb Linscott; Lexi Nolda of North Platte, daughter of Luis and Gianna Nolda; and Desteny Miller of Arapahoe, the reigning Miss Alliance and daughter of Brandon and Cherry Wulf

As with the Miss Pageant, only 2 of the Teen Pageant contestants are from the Panhandle. They are Madisen Meek of Hemingford, daughter of Jennifer and Brett Cullan and David Meek, and Anna Meir of Gering, daughter of Julie and Justin Focken and the late Richie Meier.

Two of the others are from North Platte: Grace Tanner, daughter of Elizabeth and Rick Tanner, and Addi Carter, daughter of Monica and Eric Carter. Completing the field are Addison Dauel of Gretna, daughter of Brenda and Aaron Dauel, and Rylee Wackler of Valentine, daughter of Eric and Danielle Wackler.

The Miss Chadron Pageant had been a fall staple for 3 decades, but went on hiatus when the past directors stepped down. It’s now back under first-year pageant director Courtney Grumbles, who’s excited to again offer an official local qualifying pageant for the Miss America and Miss America’s Teen contests.

There is a separate overall community service competition, an audience choice award, and Miss Congeniality – determined by a vote of the contestants. A silent auction will take place during the competition.

Along with scholarships, crowns and prizes, the winners of the local pageant will advance to the Miss Nebraska and Miss Nebraska’s Teen pageant next June in North Platte.
