Under the leadership of new Head Coach Travis Brewster, the Chadron State College women’s basketball team was picked to finish 15th out of 15 teams in the 2023-24 RMAC Women’s Basketball Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
“We respect the teams in our conference and our turnaround has officially begun,” Brewster said. “Success for us is being that team nobody wants to play because of our competitive will.”
CSC finished 4-24 overall and 4-18 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play last season.
Last year’s conference champion, Regis University, was picked to finish first with 12 first place votes. Colorado School of Mines and CSU-Pueblo were picked second and third. The Orediggers had one first place vote while the Thunderwolves had two.
Rounding out the top eight is Adams State, Black Hills State, Colorado Mesa, MSU-Denver and Fort Lewis.
“We can’t change the past; we do not accept self-pity. We will embrace the opportunity that awaits us,” Brewster said. “We are dedicated to earning our respect and learning to become a Juggernaut.”
The Eagles tip off their season on Friday, November 10 at 5 p.m. in the Chicoine Center.
