Rare Non-Sellout Opening Day For Fort Robinson Historical Christmas Dinner Tickets

Loading

Tickets for the Fort Robinson State Park Historical Christmas Dinner on Dec 2 went on sale Monday morning at 8:00 and for the first time in years did not sell out within the first 90-minutes.

When contacted at 3:00 PM, Fort Robinson officials said there were still 41 of the 200 tickets available for purchase through the park office.

As usual, tickets were sold in 3 locations: the Fort Robinson headquarters, D&S Market in Harrison, and the Chadron Chamber of Commerce-Visitors Center – where the doors opened about an hour before sales began so buyers could wait indoors.

The first buyer arrived at the Chamber about 6:30 and Chamber Director Gabby Michna says nearly 20 numbers had been handed out to set the ticket line by 8:00 and that everyone was excited and in good spirits.

The Chamber had 80 tickets and sold all but about 20 of them in the initial rush, but still had those 20 when Fort Robinson staff called at 9:00 and said to sell no more. A staffer was over to pick them up by 9:30.

Information on whether there are still any tickets left for the Historical Christmas Dinner and how to get them is available by calling the Fort Robinson Office at 665-2900.

The ticket sale was also the unofficial kickoff of “A Country Christmas in Northwest Nebraska,” which has Discover Northwest Nebraska Executive Director Kerri Rempp excited.

Rempp says checking discovernwnebraska.com on a regular basis is a good idea all year long, not just during A Country Christmas because it’s a great way to keep up on a wide range of events and activities in this corner of the state.
