Alcohol Compliance Checks Conducted in Keith, Scotts Bluff Counties

The Nebraska State Patrol and local partners conducted alcohol compliance checks in Scotts Bluff and Keith counties earlier this month.

On Friday, November 17, NSP investigators conducted compliance checks at 12 businesses in Keith County. One of those businesses sold alcohol to a minor for a non-compliance rate of 8%. All of the businesses checked the minor’s ID.

This operation was supported by grant #93.959 under the SAMHSA Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, Region II Human Services, and the Nebraska DHHS Division of Behavioral Health.

On Saturday, November 18, NSP investigators worked with the Gering Police Department, Scottsbluff Police Department, and Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office to conduct compliance checks at 77 businesses. Nine businesses sold alcohol to a minor for a non-compliance rate of 12%.

This operation was supported by grant funding from the NDOT Highway Safety Office, SAMHSA Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, Region I Behavioral Health Authority, and Nebraska DHHS.

The businesses that failed the inspections were:

Elks Lodge 1367 – Scottsbluff                       Panhandle Cooperative – Scottsbluff

Businesses that sell alcohol to a minor are referred to the Nebraska Liquor Commission. Clerks who sell alcohol to a minor are cited for procuring alcohol for a minor. The businesses included restaurants, grocery stores, liquor stores, convenience stores, bars, and hotels.
