Rae Dawn Shangreaux was born on June 17, 1990 in Pine Ridge, SD to Ronald Red Owl Sr and Elvira Shangreaux. Rae Dawn made her journey to the Spirit World on Dec 5, 2023 at the Pine Ridge IHS Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD.
Rae Dawn is survived by her children Silas, Kiara, Larae, and Elais Shangreaux; mother Elvira Shangreaux; brothers Ronald Red Owl, Jr., Lynden Shangreaux, AJ Iron Cloud, and Drew Shangreaux; and sisters Phoebe Red Owl, Miranda (Preston) Little Bull, and Billie Jean Red Owl.
Rae Dawn was preceded in death by her father Ronald Red Owl Sr; brother Nathan Red Owl; nieces Kayza Red Owl and Alana Red Owl; uncle Archie Red Owl Jr; aunt Kim Red Owl; and grandparents Phoebe Two Crow, Pete Shangreaux, Archie Red Owl Sr, and Pauline Montileaux.
Pallbearers will be Lloyd Nightwalker, Justin Garrett, Jesse Eagle Hawk, Kasey Black Hawk, Bethany Brewer, and Marquita Janis.
Honorary pallbearers will be All Friends & Relatives.
