The Chadron Police Department’s Annual “Shop with a Cop” is moving into high gear for the 19th straight holiday season.
Officer Derek Bauer, who is once again heading up the program, says the early fundraising is complete and officers are spending more and more time taking Chadron school children in the program out to do their shopping.
Bauer, Chadron’s School Resource Officer, says even more kids could be helped if donations were higher, but he’s quick to praise the current level of giving as exceptional.
Although the big water bottles in several stores for donations of bills and change are coming in, donations can still be made to the Shop With A Cop fund at FNBO or they can be brought in or mailed directly to the Chadron Police Department
