Chadron State College’s Ana Rojas-Zamora, a sophomore from Sweeny, Texas, is the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Wrestler of the Week.
It’s the final award of the season and the first earned this season by an Eagle
Â
Rojas-Zamora went 2-0 while wrestling up a weight class in 2 duals last weekend. The usual 123-pounder bumped up to 130 pounds and recorded 2 separate pins to help CSC to 35-5 and 37-10 dual victories over Dakota Wesley and Minot State
Â
Against Dakota Wesleyan, Rojas-Zamora used a 4-point slam that immediately landed her opponent on her back, resulting in a fall.
Â
In her Minot State match, Rojas-Zamora was trailing 3-1 before scoring a quick 2-point takedown that once again landed her opponent on her back and resulted in a pin.
Â
The Eagles wrestle next at the RMAC Women’s Championships this Saturday, February 3, in Denver on the campus of Regis University.
