Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol conducted numerous alcohol compliance checks across the state last month, including in Dawes County.
Checks were conducted in 26 businesses and all but 2 passed. The two that sold alcohol to a minor were both in Chadron – Safeway and Molcajetes Mexican Restaurant
The checks were conducted in partnership with local public health agencies with the Panhandle Prevention District/Public Health District providing a grant to support the operation.
Elsewhere, one of 10 businesses checked in Chase and Perkins Counties failed as did one of the 15 businesses inspected in Deuel and Garden Counties and 3 of 21 in Nemaha and Otoe Counties.
Scottsbluff County, on the other hand, had a 100% compliance rate for 27 businesses inspected, as did the 11 businesses checked in Custer and Loup Counties.
