Adelbert Irving Tail, Jr. was born on April 11, 1952 in Porcupine, SD to Delbert Tail, Sr. and Ella Beautiful Bald Eagle. Adelbert made his journey to the Spirit World on June 21, 2022 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD.
Adelbert is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Rowland; daughters, Kimberly Adams and Thelma Tail; son, Royal Leftwich; son, David (Kelly Hosie) Leftwich; brothers, Elvis M. Tail and Francis “Sonny” Richards; sisters, Martha (Andre Janis) L. Protector, Priscilla A. Tail, Ella M. (David) Tail-Lays Bad, Mary F. Tail, Crystal A. Tail, and Lula Jones; aunt, Georgia Tail; uncle, Eli (Carolyn) Tail; stepmother, Dorothy R. Protector-Tail; grandson, Tayamni Leftwich; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Adelbert was preceded in death by his father, Delbert Tail, Sr.; mother, Ella Beautiful Bald Eagle; grandfather, Jackson Tail; grandmother, Helen Young Bear; sisters, Gertrude Tail, Jackie Tail, and Adele Tail; cousins, Jeff Tail, Matt Mesteth, Tyrone Mesteth, Dean Andrews, Melvin Featherman, Mona Mesteth, and Darmalee Tail; and adopted brother, Everette Sanchez.
