Former Nebraska quarterback Adrian Martinez added to his United Football League hardware over the weekend, leading the Birmingham Stallions over the San Antonio Brahmas 25-0 to win the UFL championship. Martinez was named MVP of the championship game to add to his league MVP.
The game started off as a defensive struggle with both teams held scoreless until the final minute of the first half with a Martinez touchdown pass to Gary Jennings to put points on the board. The Stallions converted the two point conversion to make it 8-0 going into the half.
It was all Stallions in the second half as they added 17 more points and held the Brahmas scoreless to take the inaugural UFL championship by a 25-0 score.
Martinez finished with three touchdowns on the day, throwing for one and rushing for two to take the MVP honors.
