Albert Roy Cottier-Wilson

Albert Roy Cottier-Wilson was born on July 3, 1992 in Rapid City, SD to Charles Wilson and Lori Ann Cottier. Albert made his journey to the Spirit World on July 6, 2024 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

Albert came from a family of state champion runners on both parents sides, and he too enjoyed running. Throughout his school years, he participated in both track and cross country. He just recently participated in the Freedom Run. Albert attended school at Pine Ridge School up until his junior year. He met his high school sweetheart, Tori Lessart, and they had a beautiful daughter together named Avani Charlize. Albert later received his GED. Albert loved horses and rode them and helped break them. He recently rode in the Crazy Horse Ride. Albert will always be remembered for his big smile and willingness to help. Albert will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.

Albert is survived by his daughter, Avani Charlize Lessert-Cottier; grandmother, Rose Cottier; siblings, Melissa Cottier, Alexander Ray Wilson, Thomas Wilson, Calmer Cottier, Jerome Warrior, and Brandi Warrior; aunts, Beth Grass, Jeanine Grass, Jerilynn Cottier, Becky Cottier, Lyn Wilson, Donna Wilson, Holly Wilson, Mona Wilson, Saunie K. Wilson, and Connie Wilson; uncles, Tom Wilson, Andrew Cottier, Wesley Cottier, Sr., Bishop Cottier, and Patrick Cottier-Grass; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Lori Ann Cottier and Charles Wilson; grandmother, Katherine Cottier; paternal grandparents, James “Dr. Jim” III and Florence (Whipple) Wilson; maternal great grandparents, Bert and Marcella (Flying Hawk) Cottier; nephews, Logan Warrior-Goings and Hayden Youngman; uncles, Clifford “CJ” Grass, Jr. and James “Jimmy John” Wilson IV; aunt, Edna Wilson; and cousins, Devon Elk Boy, Cassandra Pine, Christina Lone Elk, and Andrea Cortier.

Pallbearers will be Dale Pine, Sr., Thomas Wilson, George Richards, Rusty Richards, William Warrior, Wes Cottier, Sr., Wes Cottier, Jr., Andrew Cottier, Sr., Bishop Cottier, and Patrick Grass, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be All Friends and Relatives.

A one night wake service for Albert Roy Cottier-Wilson will start at 2 on Tuesday July 16, 2024 at the Pine Ridge Elementary School Gym in Pine Ridge. Evening services with Rosary starts at 7.

Funeral service will be at 11 on Wednesday July 17, 2024 at the Pine Ridge Elementary School Gym with Pastor Alton Yellow Boy and Thomas Dillon.

Burial is at the St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Rockyford, SD.
