Funeral services for 39-year old Alec Dillon are Thurs, April 13, 2023 at 11:00 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, SD, with Father Edmund Yainao, SJ, officiating and traditional Lakota services by Pat Janis
Burial is at the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Pine Ridge.
A one-night wake service starts Wed, April 12, at 2:00 at Sacred Heart Catholic with evening services starting at 7:00.
Alec Lee Dillon was born on May 14, 1983 in Pine Ridge, SD to DeWitt Louis Dillon and Marilyn Red Cloud- Brown. Alec made his journey to the Spirit World on April 1, 2023 in Pine Ridge, SD.
Alec is survived by his mother Marilyn J Red Cloud of Pine Ridge; sons,Jesse and Chance Pulliam; siblings Charles “Matt” Dillon of MT, Mike Red Cloud, Merle “Shorty” Catches, both of Rapid City, SD, Trent Brewer, Lester Brown, James Track, Nathaniel Track, Jr., of Pine Ridge, Yvonne Dillon, Veronica Dillon, Tylynn Dillon, all of MT, Johnee Moreno of California, and Dorreen & Candace Brown of Pierre, SD, Myrna Rodriguez of Pine Ridge, and Calvin Cordova of Rapid City; grandparents Florence Janis, Dave & Kathy Janis, and Freda Big Road, all of Manderson, SD, Mary Ellen Red Shirt, Marjorie & Frank Murdock, Roberta Ecoffey of Pine Ridge, and Lorraine Track of Rapid City; aunts Lorna Her Many Horses of Missouri, Jennifer and Sherry Martin, both of Pine Ridge; uncle Reno Red Cloud of Pine Ridge; and special friend Danelle Merrival of Pine Ridge.
Alec was preceded in death by his father DeWitt Dillon; sisters Monica Dillon, Mary Ellen Red Cloud, and Alanie Mesteth; brothers Tony Sequeiros, Joseph Rodriguez, and Charlie Dillon; grandparents Grace Pourier, Reno Red Cloud, and Myrna Janis-Martin; great-grandparents, Dave & Elfreda Janis, Mary Ann Red Cloud, Agnes Red Cloud, and Edgar Red Cloud; great-great-grandmother Lottie Red Cloud; aunts Pam Red Cloud, Charlotte Red Cloud, Mary Ellen Red Cloud, Susan Martin; uncles Benjamin Red Cloud, Ronald Martin and Delano “Charkey” Pablo.
