All phone lines are currently down at the 911 Communications Center at the Chadron Police Station. The Center serves both Dawes and Sioux County.
Communications Center Director Gale Kittel says technicians are working on the outage, but have no estimate as to when service will be restored.
Kittel says two cell numbers are available for both 911 and non-emergency calls, but that limiting their use to emergencies would be appreciated. Those numbers are 308-665-8213 and 308-430-0641
Why does Mr. Kittell only hire female dispatchers?
