Alliance Reopening Applications For Police Chief

Loading

It’s back to square one for the City of Alliance in its search for a new police chief to succeed Philip Lukens, who resigned in mid-September after almost 3 years.

The city recently completed interviews with 3 candidates, but City Manager Seth Sorensen says they were unable to come to mutually agreeable terms with the candidates.

Sorensen thanks the trio and the other applicants for dedicating their time and talents to the process so far.

Sorensen says the selection process is very thorough because the city is looking for the most appropriate candidate who can serve the community effectively. Because of that, there’s no timeline or deadline for naming the new chief.

Alliance has hired a consultant, the Government Professional Solutions recruiting firm, to help find new applicants

Lt Kirk Felker was appointed Interim Police Chief in September and will serve in the post until the permanent chief is hired.
