A one-night wake service starts Friday, April 26, at 4:30 at the Wolf Creek School Gymnasium near Pine Ridge with evening services at 7:00 PM.

Aloysius “Bud” Waters-Salway “Wicasa Wakan” was born on Jan 8, 1932 in Pine Ridge to James Salway and Jessie (Waters) Goodshield. Aloysius made his journey to the Spirit World on April 19, 2024 at the Pine Ridge IHS Hospital in Pine Ridge.
Aloysius is survived by his daughters Sharon Waters of Hot Springs, SD, Mona Waters of Cheyenne Creek, and Iva Good Voice Flute and Candy Good Voice Flute. both of #4 Payabya; sons Wayne Waters of Rescue, CA, Lonnie Waters of Chadron, NE, Forrest Waters Ozark, AR, Patrick Waters of Chicago, IL, and Harold and Preston Good Voice Flute both of #4 Payabya; hunka daughters Nancy Keller of Mission, SD, Carol Big Crow and Margaret Vitalis both of Pine Ridge, and Deb Thompson of Gordon, NE; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Aloysius was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn Waters; parents Jim Salway and Jessie Waters-Good Shield; sons Darold Waters, Harold Waters, Lester Waters, Darrell Waters, Thomas Waters and Gary Red Shirt; daughter Sherry Horse; sister Colleen (Mike) Black Elk-Green; grandchildren Louie Ferguson, Riley Ferguson, Misty Waters, Lyle Waters, Sienna Rain Waters, Brandon Waters, Brett Waters, and Rulon Waters; grandparents Alex Water and Maggie Big Rib; his second wife Lillian Tobacco; nephew Kevin Green; and his favorite horse Blackie.
Pallbearers are Terry Salway, Seth Salway, Teton Lacota, Paul “Flip” Wilson, Pat Heathershaw, Dale “Ducky” Harris, Shane Hagen, Mike Rooks, Brian Starr, Ryan Waters, Frank Starr, and Hotshot Carlow.
