Alta Lou (White Plume) White Butterfly “Ho Okawinh Mani Win” was born on November 13, 1953 in Pine Ridge, SD to Percy White Plume, Sr. and Valencia Weasel. Alta made her journey to the Spirit World on October 29, 2020 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Alta is survived by her daughters, Lesley Cary White Butterfly and Lynn Afraid of Bear; sons, Michael (Vanessa) White Plume, Sr., Tatanka White Butterfly, Ivan (Stormy) White Butterfly and Chauncey (Brittany) Brown; siblings, her twin-Rita Sue White Plume, Ramona White Plume, Percy (Angie) White Plume, Jr., Alex (Deb) White Plume, Sr., Carla Crazy Thunder, Carlene Crazy Thunder; hunka sisters, Ethleen Iron Crow-Two Dogs and Gayla Spotted Bear; and grandchildren, Michael Jr., Jaden, Marlin, Haley, Raymond, James, Deloni, Rhiannon, Kyson, Jovan, Jordan and Kinsley.
Alta was preceded in death by her parents, Percy White Plume, Sr. and Valencia Weasel; husband, Ivan White Butterfly, Sr.; children, Michelle Marie White Plume, Theresa Brown, Tawapaha White Butterfly and Marlin White Plume, Sr.; and sisters, Annabelle, Wyoma and Priscilla White Plume.
Pallbearers will be Hattie White Butterfly, Timothy White Plume, Theo Two Eagle, Creighton “Wayne” Yankton, Nathan Ghost Jr., Chance White Plume, Mario White Butterfly, Fernando White Butterfly and Gabe White Plume.
