The Dawes County Honor Guard was recently recognized at the American Legion Post #12 in Chadron. Organized by Francine Dolezal and the Auxiliary Ladies, a light supper was served.
Following was a presentation of certificates by Chadron Mayor George Klein, recognizing their many years of service to veterans and their families.
In addition, Crawford’s American Legion Post #138 Officers donated checks to the Honor Guard for providing services to Chadron, Whitney and Crawford veterans.
Members of the Dawes County Honor Guard in attendance included Mike Kaus, Tom Donahue, Jerry Reed, Larry Hix, Glen Kotschwar, Commander John Dueker, Stan Campbell, Bruce Dolezal, Laverne Savage, Bill Courtney, Miles Winchester, Vincent Ten Fingers, and Ted Kienitz.
