Memorial services for 81-year old Amy Moore are Friday, August 6, 2022, at 10:00 at Bible Baptist Church in Gordon, NE.

Amy Beth (Paulson) Moore was born on 15 May 1941, in Powers Lake, ND, to her father John Lawrence Paulson (40), and her mother Flossie Mary (Frazier) Paulson (36). She passed on 1 August, 2022, at Gordon Countryside Care.
The youngest of seven children, Amy lived in Flaxton, ND, until she married Darrel Walter Woodbeck in Flaxton on 2 August 1957.
Amy and Darrel moved around a bit, living in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada, as well as several towns in North Dakota and South Dakota, finally settling in Lead, SD, in 1964. Amy and Darrel had 3 sons: Steve, Doug, and Mike who were born in 1958, 1959, and 1960 respectively.
After her divorce from Darrel in 1970, Amy married Bill Nichols from Lead, but that marriage also soon ended in divorce. Then, in 1973, she moved to Gordon, where she met Robert “Bob” Leroy Moore.
Amy started working at the Nebraska Beef plant, then at the Western Café while Bob was working for the Magowan Feed Mill. Bob pursued her and they eventually got married in Rapid City, SD, on 20 December 1974. They lived in Gordon ever after.
When they were first married, Amy and Bob lived for a time in Keller’s Trailer Court, then moved to a farm just north of Gordon what was owned by Ross Magowan.
They lived there until around 1983, when they bought their home at 508 N. Hickory Street, in Gordon. Amy lived in their home until around 2018, when she went into the Gordon Countryside Care Nursing Home, where she resided until her death.
Amy made a lot of friends and acquaintances over her many years in Gordon. She worked for the Head Start program for a while and at one point had a fabric shop on Main Street. There she taught many local women to quilt and sew.
Amy was an avid seamstress and hand-made many quilts and wall hangings. She was quite enthusiastic about entering her work in the local Sheridan County Fair and won many ribbons for her work.
Amy was also Social Service Coordinator for the residents of the Gordon Nursing Home for quite a few years. She has had quite a fondness for the home as a result of her work there.
Amy was very civic-minded, bringing many issues to the City Council periodically over the years.
Anyone who knew her well knew that she could be a force to be reckoned with, but that she had what she thought was the “best interest” at heart.
Amy was a long-time member of St Mark’s Episcopal Church, but in 2015 switched and began to go to the Bible Baptist Church – explaining that she changed because she felt Bible Baptist was a true bible-teaching church.
Amy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Flossie Paulson, her brothers Neal and Jack, her sisters, Betty and Flossie “Babe”, and her son, Steve.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Moore; her brothers Norman Paulson and Wayne Paulson; her sons Doug and Mike and stepson Burdette Moore; grandchildren Joshua Woodbeck, Christopher Woodbeck, Stephanie (Woodbeck) Johnson, Aaron Woodbeck (Steve’s children); Darrel Woodbeck, Dan Garrett, Maggie Squires (Doug’s son and stepchildren); Scott Woodbeck and Sean Woodbeck (Mike’s sons); and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
