Memorial services for 63-year old Angela “Angie” Hoagland of Rushville, NE, are Sat, April 20, 2024 at 10:00 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rushville.
A Vigil will be held Friday evening beginning at 7:00, also at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rushville.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to the Rushville Preschool for playground equipment. A fund will be established for this purpose and donations may be sent in care of Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home, PO Box 366, Gordon, NE 69343.

Angela René (Beguin) Hoagland was born on Sept 2, 1960, in Rushville and passed away on April 13, 2024 at her home in Rushville.
Angie was born six weeks premature to Myrna and Blayne Beguin, but after one week in an incubator, the doctors decided they better weigh the little fighter because she was obviously stronger than they realized. This set the theme for her entire life.
Angie grew up on the Beguin Ranch with her siblings, who she adored. Judy soon joined the family and the Beguin Bunch grew. Angie loved swimming in the creek, riding horses and fighting with her siblings. She rarely stood up for herself, but cross anyone she loved and you would get to experience just how deeply she loved her family.
In high school, Angie played volleyball, was on the track team, was a cheerleader, rodeoed, and was part of the first girls basketball team in Rushville. She played volleyball for Eastern Wyoming College and went to nationals.
After graduating with an Associates Degree, Angie completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Social work at the University of Wyoming. Her love for volleyball continued throughout her life and she passed this on to her daughters and many young girls through her many years of coaching.
Angie met the love of her life, Gary Hoagland, and within three months Gary knew he had met the woman he wanted to share his life with. He proposed and they were married on April 16, 1983. There are no words to adequately describe the love that they shared. From this union they were blessed with three daughters, Danielle, Alexis and Brittany.
Angie was the kind of mother every woman strives to be. She was a Girl Scout leader, catechism teacher, volleyball coach, track coach and the girl’s biggest supporter. She sewed Halloween costumes, practiced play lines, was a shoulder to cry on and dished out hard life lessons when needed. Her love was unconditional.
Not only was Angie the best mother to her daughters, she raised half the children of Rushville through her many years of daycare. Anyone who had the privilege to go to “Angie’s House” held a special place in her heart for life. She later transitioned her love of children to the preschool and became the social worker for the Gordon-Rushville School system until her retirement.
Angie was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister, but nothing quite compared to her role as a Nana. She loved her 3 granddaughters with everything that she had and they, in turn, adored her.
Once Aubrey Lee was born, Angie couldn’t wait much longer than a couple of weeks before she had to drive 400 miles to visit her grandbaby. She would wake early in the morning to go on walks and play with the girls before anyone woke up. Later, the girls loved to crawl in her lap to look at pictures, read books and go on wheelchair rides. Just as she did with her daughters, she was at every softball game and dance recital.
When Angie was diagnosed with ALS, she didn’t let it consume her; she fought as she did from the very first day of her life. A Daddy’s girl her entire life, she inherited Blayne’s stubbornness and it served her well.
During her illness. the love she and Gary shared only grew stronger and the bond they shared was evident to anyone around them. She remained surrounded by her family that she loved fiercely until the very end.
She is preceded in death by her mother Myrna Beguin, father Blayne Beguin, and step-mother Judy Beguin.
She is survived by her loving husband Gary; daughters Danielle (Austin) Thies, Alexis Hoagland, and Brittany Hoagland; granddaughters Aubrey, Avery, Amiyah Thies, siblings Candie (Doug) Johnson, Roxie (Mike) Reetz, Rex Beguin, Kirk (Heidi) Beguin, Craig Beguin, and Cody (Amy) Beguin; and many nieces and nephews and their children.
