At Friday’s state cross country meet in Kearney, Chadron’s trio of runners came away with the best finishes of the northwest Nebraska competitors.
Jentsyn Fuller crossed the line in 22nd in Class C with a time of 22:02. Lillie Uhing was seven spots back with a 22:33. Grace Pyle rounded out the three, crossing in 59th in a time of 23:21.
In the Class D girls race, Gordon-Rushville’s Tyrah American Horse was 66th with a time of 23:46 and teammate Rylie Barker was 93rd with a 24:56.
Gordon-Rushville’s Luke Laws took 31st in Class D boys with an 18:29 and Hay Springs’ Parker Wellnitz was 47th with an 18:55.
Regionally, Hemingford won the Class D girls state title with 33 points, holding off Ainsworth’s 36.
