A joint local-state-federal operation Monday night and Tuesday morning arrested 29 people across Nebraska on meth-related drug charges.
FBI Special Agent Eugene Kowell says 19 arrests were on federal charges and 10 on state charges.
Agent Kowell says most of the arrests in the sweep took place before sunrise Tuesday at locations in the state, including the cities of Lincoln, Kearney, and Ogallala.
The charges include possession of methamphetamine, conspiracy to distribute meth, and firearm-related counts.
Kowell says the arrests are the result of a 2-year investigation that had already seen 26 arrests with still more anticipated in the future. Some of those arrested in this week’s sweep are scheduled to make their first court appearances today.
