     Sheridan County Attorney Jamian Simmons says a 5-year old boy died Friday when an ATV was hit by a tractor on a rural Sheridan County farm south of Hay Springs.
Names have not been released.
Simmons says sheriff’s deputies called to investigate the accident believe the 5-year old was on the ATV by himself when he drove in front of a tractor being operated by a family member and was hit.
The boy was taken to Chadron Community Hospital, but was pronounced dead after arriving there.
Simmons says the incident remains under investigation pending an autopsy, but that no criminal charges are anticipated at this time.
