Dawes County Attorney Vance Haug says a Chadron woman found dead in her family home Tuesday night apparently died of natural causes.
Haug says the investigation into the specific cause of death of 35-year old Samantha McCoy continues with an autopsy and toxicological screening ordered.
Family members found McCoy unresponsive about 10:20 pm in the family home and immediately called 911.
Chadron police officers responding to the 911 call investigated the scene, collected evidence, and interviewed witnesses, then contacted Haug to review their initial findings and assist in the investigation.
