The Chadron High girls and boys opened the new year by splitting games with Hot Springs at home.

Taegan Bach started out 5-of-5 from behind the three point line and finished with six total for a game high 18 points as the Chadron girls rolled over Hot Springs 61-14. The 40-point running clock began with the Cardinals first basket of the 2nd half.

Demi Ferguson added 12 points as Chadron moved its record to 5-5, the first time at .500 or better since December 16th. Chadron will travel to Lakota Tech on Thursday with tip off set for 6:30 pm.

A Brady Daniels three pointer pulled the Chadron boys within five of Hot Springs at 33-28 in the 3rd quarter, but the Bison outscored the Cards 8-2 to finish the quarter and slammed the door shut in the 4th for a 61-45 win.

Daniels led Chadron with 17 points as the only Cardinal in double figures. The loss drops Chadron to 5-5 on the season as they head to Mitchell on Saturday.
