Chadron’s Bands on Bordeaux summer concert series begins its 2023 run tonight from 6-9:00 at Railroad Park on 1st Street between Main and Bordeaux with the same group that played last year’s final concert – Nathan Dean and the Damn Band.
This is the third straight year and fourth overall at Bands on Bordeaux for the group, which was also part of the lineup in 2015. Chamber of Commerce Director Gabby Michna is excited to have them back again and is sure the audience will be, too.
Michna says the groups primary sound remains 90’s country with lots of original music from their 4 albums plus plenty of cover versions of songs by groups from many musical genres.
The group was formed back in 2005, but Nathan Dean is the lone remaining original member of the group – which was originally named “No Quiet Hours.”
Dean said it was a reference to the frequent “after parties” with the band after the bar where they were playing had closed for the night.
After a few years, he began hearing people say “Oh, no – that damn band is coming back to town. My liver’s going to hurt” – and that name stuck.
Gabby Michna says that, as always, Bands on Bordeaux includes food vendors, kids activities, and a beer garden covering the entire concert area.
All adults need to get a wristband when entering, whether they’re planning to drink or not. Michna says it’s how the Chamber tallies attendance – adding that it also provides another age check for alcohol use.
Seating is limited, so everyone is encouraged to bring a lawn chair to Bands on Bordeaux for Nathan Dean and The Damn Band, 6:00-9:00 tonight at Railroad Park in Chadron.
