Funeral services for 36-year old Barbara Little Whiteman are Sat, Dec 3, 2022 at 11:00 at the American Horse School in Allen, SD, with Mother Michelle Dayton and Pastor Tim & Kim Wardell officiating.
Cremation will follow the service with burial at a later date.
A two-night wake service will be held. The first night starts Thurs, Dec 1, at 1:00 at the Passcreek CAP Office in Allen. The second night begins Friday at 4:00 at the American Horse School in Allen Evening services start both nights at 7:00.
Barbara Marie (Callous Leg) Little Whiteman “Okipica Sni Win” was born on January 13, 1986 in Rapid City, SD to Vincent Callous Leg and Carrie Little Crow-Tallman. Barbara made her journey to the Spirit World on November 19, 2022 near Okcreek, SD.
Barbara grew up with her grandmother, Goldie Little Crow, who taught her everything she knew about the traditional ways. Barbara always enjoyed cooking, especially trying out new recipes. Barbara was always helping others, such as giving to the homeless in Rapid City, whether she knew them or not.
Barbara is survived by her husband Ray Little Whiteman,Sr; daughters Raya Doll Little Whiteman and Benedicta Little Whiteman; son Ray Little Whiteman Jr, all of Allen; mother and step-father Carrie (Little Crow) and Harvey Tallman of Allen; sisters Beulah Tallman of Allen, Marissa High Bull of Rapid City, Sheya Running Hawk of Pine Ridge, SD, Nicole Callous Leg of Texas, and Carol Phillips of Red Wood Falls, MN; mother-in-law Bernadine Tallman of Allen; father-in-law Leon Tallman of Allen; brothers Norman High Hawk of Pine Ridge, Dante High Bull, John Running Hawk, and Lonnie “Chuck” Tallman all of Allen; and special nieces & nephew, Enola, Krianna, and Kordell Running Hawk.
Barbara was preceded in death by her children, Ray Little Whiteman Jr and Azallia Jade Little Whiteman; brother Brandon Maurice Callous Leg; grandparents Goldie Little Crow, Thelma Little Crow, Virginia White Woman, Grace Little Crow, Virginia White Shield, and Benedict Callous Leg; and father Vincent Callous Leg.
Pallbearers will be Sonja Brave Bird, Leatrice Zephier, Tianna Yellow Hair, MontaBeth Jaquez, Holly Blaine, Nakina Yellow Hair, Wind White Woman, Justin Poor Bear, Lonnie “Chuck” Tallman, Austin Cortez, Harlen Garnette Jr, and Norman High Hawk.
