Basil Broken Rope Sr “Sungmanitu Ska” was born on September 7, 1986 in Rapid City, SD to Belnita (Broken Rope) Little Bear and Malcolm Lone Hill. Basil Sr made his journey to the Spirit World on June 2, 2021 near Hisle, SD.
Basil Sr is survived by his mother, Belnita (Garrett) Little Bear; spouse, Stephanie Red Willow; daughters, Azairea Ann, Ezmerelda Rea, Amilea Dream, and Tali Joi Broken Rope; siblings, Michael, John, Annetta, and Rose Little Bear; aunts & uncles, Janice Morrison, Candy Shoulders, Theresa Lone Hill, Carlene Janis, Joe Broken Rope, and Elwin Broken Rope; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and cousins.
Basil Sr was preceded in death by his sons, Basil Broken Rope, Jr. and Cylis Blu Broken Rope; grandparents, Luke & Katie Broken Rope, and Roseann Cottier; cousins, Loretta Ann Broken Rope & William Apple Sr; aunt, Mildred Broken Rope; and uncles, Ray & Delores Takes War Bonnet.
