    Nebraska Game and Parks says 15-year-old girl from Bayard was injured in a jet ski accident Saturday night at Bridgeport State Recreation Area. The teen, whose name has not been released, is recovering at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora.
Game and Parks says the girl was a passenger on a jet ski that was hit by another jet ski, also driven by a teen from Bayard, about 6:00 pm MT.
The 3 teens on the 2 jet skis were riding around the island in the lake when the one the girl was on made a hard turn and the second couldn’t avoid a collision. The second jet ski struck the girl, who was thrown into the water.
After being brought to shore, she was taken by ambulance to the Morrill County Community Hospital in Bridgeport with nonlife-threatening injuries, then flown to the Colorado hospital.
The Morrill County Sheriff’s Office and Morrill County Emergency Services assisted at the scene while Game and Parks is investigating the accident.
