Loading

The body of a rural Gering man reported missing by his family last Tuesday was found  Saturday afternoon in a rural area of Wyoming.

Scotts Bluff County Sheriff Mark Overman says family members found 37-year old Joseph Sloan in Laramie County and that foul play is not suspected. The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation in that state.

Family members reported Sloan missing late last Tuesday afternoon and that he might be in the La Grange area. Two days of searching was later conducted by the family, other agencies, and volunteers.

Sheriff Overman says the Air Wing of the Nebraska State Patrol spent many hours on the search, with the Goshen County Sheriff’s Office in Torrington, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office in Cheyenne, and the Wyoming Highway Patrol also providing assistance.
