Brian Edward Baird “Wakangli Wahacanka” (Lightning Shield)

Brian Edward Baird, known by his Lakota name, Wakangli Wahacanka “Lightning Shield,” graced this world on June 15, 1985, as the son of Ardis Iron Cloud and Theodore Hamilton of Porcupine and L Raymond Baird of Mission, SD. He began his journey to the star camp October 9, 2023

Brian was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the UFC, which he referred to as the “human chess match.” He loved spending time outdoors, taking his children into nature, exploring the Black Hills, the Grand Tetons, and Rocky Mountains. He especially loved the hills of Porcupine, where he would go timpsila hunting with his children.

Throughout his earthly journey, Brian was a source of laughter and joy. His generosity knew no bounds and he always extended a helping hand to those in need. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those fortunate to have known him.

Brian was preceded in death by his mother Ardis; his father Louis; his eldest brother Phillip Baird; and both his maternal and paternal grandparents, Eddie and Mary Iron Cloud and Irene Red Owl and L Raymond Baird Sr.
