Broncos Hackett Nixed 7-On-7 Drills This Summer For Safety, Science

Denver Broncos rookie head coach Nathaniel Hackett ditched the traditional 7-on-7 drills along with the accompanying 1-on-1 pass rushing drills this summer in the interest of keeping his players healthy.

He replaced those staple drills of football with more 11-on-11 or team drills so that his players could get more practice in real-game situations.

The move was met by skepticism from former players. Hackett said he’d rather get his players to the starting line healthy than risk losing them to injury in drills that don’t directly correlate to game day situations.
