Running back Melvin Gordon’s fumble issues finally cost him his job with the Denver Broncos, who waived him Monday after his latest fumble cost them points in a loss to the Raiders.
Gordon fumbled at the goal line just before halftime and although the Broncos recovered the ball they had to settle for a field-goal attempt which was blocked. The Broncos ended up losing 22-16 in overtime.
Gordon also had a crucial fumble in the Broncos’ 32-23 loss to the Raiders in Las Vegas in Week 4, but kept his job after that turnover was returned for a touchdown.
