The Crawford Rams upset Cody-Kilgore Tuesday and will face Hay Springs Friday for a shot to head to the District Finals.
The Rams’ Mitch Knode launched a three-pointer at the buzzer to earn a hail-Mary win over the Cowboys in the opening round of the D2-12 sub-district. Cody-Kilgore sank free throws and took a 48-46 lead with just seconds remaining, but Knode’s trey dropped and handed the 49-48 victory to the Rams. Crawford is now 8-14 as they enter the sub-district championship Friday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in Hay Springs. The winner will advance to the District Finals for a chance at making the state tournament.
The Rams lost their final regular season contest last Friday 57-47 to Hemingford.
Stats for both games are unavailable.
*Correction: This version updates that the hail-Mary three-pointer was against the Cowboys, not the Hawks.
