The Class C1-7 District football honors were announced Monday morning. District champion Sidney led with nine players selected with Chadron being right behind with eight players.
Cardinals running back Quinn Bailey was named the player of the year for the district. Bailey finished his season with 2,674 yards, 32 touchdowns with an average of 243.1 yards per game which set a C-1 record. On defense Bailey finished with 71 tackles, second on the team and 47 solo tackles which led the team. Career wise, Bailey finished with 6,164 yards and 78 touchdowns.
Also representing the Cardinals on the team with All-District honors are Caden Buskirk (SR), Layne Davidson (Jr), Bryson Bickel (Sr), and Bricen Wright (So).
Cardinals earning honorable mention are Braden Wright (So), Owen Wess (Sr) and Talon Jelinik (Sr).
Sidney players took offensive and defensive players of the year with Landon Riddle being named offensive player of the year and Keian Kaiser being named defensive player of the year.
