The Chadron High softball team is the first of the Cardinal squads to get their seasons started as they travel to Southern Valley/Alma this afternoon with first pitch set up for 5:30 pm.
The Cards return most of last year’s squad that made it all the way to a district finals series in 2022.
After today, Chadron will spend tomorrow at the Lexington Invite where they will face Bennington in the opening round. Lexington or Alliance awaits on the other side of the bottom half of the bracket.
The Chadron High volleyball team split with Bayard and swept Morrill at the preseason jamboree at the newly renovated Chadron High gym on Thursday.
Fifteen teams were in town playing games at the High School and Chadron State’s Chicoine Center and Armstrong gymnasium.
The season officially begins next Thursday at home as the Cardinals host Mitchell.
The Chadron High football team will host their sports drink scrimmage tomorrow morning at Cardinal Field at 10:00 am.
