The Chadron Cardinals boys wrestling team was down in the central time zone on Saturday wrestling at Dale Bonge Wrestling Invitational in Boone Central. The Cardinals wrestled against a stacked field that featured some of the top wrestlers in the state and came home with a seventh place finish as a team. Quinn Bailey took the title at 157, defeating the Class D number one ranked wrestler while Zane Cullers proved he is a state title contender with a championship at 165.
Lane Davison took third at 165 with an impressive wrestle back after losing in the second round. Carson Long made it all the way to the third place match after losing in the quarterfinals to finish fourth at 132. Braden Wright was fifth at 175, while Fletcher Stewart at 285 also finished fifth. Also wrestling varsity for the Cardinals was Bricen Wright at 190 and Cade Smith at 190.
Next up is the district tournament on February 15th at Summerland.
